In case, a student's AGPA fails to meet the lowest cut-off grade in the discipline of his/her 1st choice mentioned in this form, his/her name will be considered for the 2nd choice and likewise from 2nd to 3rd and so on.
Conditions of progression from B Des 1 st Year (DFS) to in B.Des 2 nd Year (Discipline), as per the Credit & Evaluation Guidelines —
A B.Des student qualifies to be promoted from the B Des 1 st Year (DFS) to a discipline of choice (based on merit) in B.Des 2 nd Year only on the conditions that after availing of all the additional evaluation opportunities available, as necessary, the student
- has obtained a 'Pass' in every course in Foundation Year, i.e., has a GPA 4.00 or above in all courses, and
- has obtained an AGPA 5.00 or above in B.Des 1st Year (DFS).
A student may thus have passed in every course, but would be considered ‘Fail’ in the B Des 1 st Year (DFS) if AGPA is less than 5.00. If a student remains with a ‘Fail’ in even a single course after availing all additional evaluation opportunities, the student shall not be allowed to progress to B.Des 2 nd Year and MUST repeat the B Des 1 st Year (DFS) regardless of AGPA. If the student has not availed of all additional evaluation opportunities, that is the student's responsibility. Chance missed will be treated as chance availed.
The discipline allotment details will be announced after the declaration of the B.Des 1st year results, and before the commencement of the next Academic Year (i.e Semester 3, B.Des).
